As the bypass ratio of aircraft engines is increased – in order to reduce fuel consumption, emissions and jet mixing noise – the fan noise that radiates from the bypass exhaust nozzle is becoming one of the loudest engine sources, despite the large areas of acoustically absorptive treatment in the bypass duct.
Since the frequency and propagation characteristics of engine exhaust noise are dependent on the engine rotational speed, an adaptive noise control algorithm should have fast convergence features.

Subscale noise measurements at the exhaust conditions calculated by the cycle analysis show significant benefits in actual and perceived noise levels relative to those of the baseline engine.
Muffler reduces noise level of exhaust gases.
This paper demonstrates that these flight effects can be explained on the basis of the combination of jet mixing noise and internally generated engine exhaust noise.

Ejector schemes provide a simple means OF reducing jet noise by mixing high velocity exhaust gases with cool ambient air.
The broadband noise is mainly due to the interaction between the blade leading edge and the exhaust turbulence.
The structure of exhaust system influences the loudness of exhaust noise significantly.

Active noise control technology shows great promise for noise reduction for the motorcycle helmet industry, and the development of "quiet" helmets is important for both hearing conservation and highway safety.
Motorcycle exhaust is significantly more toxic than BTEX due to the highly toxic VOCs generated from incomplete combustion.
For the prevention of these injuries, our suggestions include well-designed external shield with adequate separation from the exhaust pipe, motorcycle parking lots of adequate width (>120cm), the wearing of trousers by motorcyclists, decrease of the density of motorcycle traffic, and development of the electric assisted cycle in place of the fuel-driven motorcycle.
The knowledge of the particle velocity fluctuations associated with acoustic pressure oscillation in the exhaust system of internal combustion engines may represent a powerful aid in the design of such systems, from the point of view of both engine performance improvement and exhaust noise abatement.

There is abundant evidence to show that the exhaust noise from gas turbines contains components which exceed the jet mixing noise at low jet velocities.
In this study, the distribution of the exhaust noise energy of a cruiser type of motorcycle in the frequency domain was proposed to improve its SQ.
The results suggest that submicron particulates predominate in the exhaust from motorcycle and exhibit high carcinogenic potency for these particulate.
