Journal ArticleDOI
Beneficial effects of GW274150, a novel, potent and selective inhibitor of iNOS activity, in a rodent model of collagen-induced arthritis
Salvatore Cuzzocrea,Prabal K. Chatterjee,Emanuela Mazzon,Michelle C. McDonald,Laura Dugo,Rosanna Di Paola,Ivana Serraino,Domenico Britti,Achille P. Caputi,Christoph Thiemermann +9 more
TL;DR: It is provided the first evidence that GW274150, a novel, potent and selective inhibitor of iNOS activity, attenuates the degree of chronic inflammation and tissue damage associated with collagen-induced arthritis in mice.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interaction between fluvoxamine and imipramine/desipramine in four patients.
TL;DR: Observations indicate that fluvoxamine inhibits both the demethylation of imipramine and, possibly to a lesser extent, the hydroxylation of desipramines, which indicates that the combination of fluVoxamine with tricyclic antidepressants should be avoided whenever possible.
Journal ArticleDOI
Beneficial effects of tempol, a membrane-permeable radical scavenger, on the multiple organ failure induced by zymosan in the rat.
Salvatore Cuzzocrea,Michelle C. McDonald,Emanuela Mazzon,Helder Mota Filipe,Valeria Lepore,Maria Luisa Terranova,Antonio Ciccolo,Achille P. Caputi,Christoph Thiemermann +8 more
TL;DR: This study provides the first evidence that tempol, a small molecule that permeates biological membranes and scavenges reactive oxygen species, attenuates the degree of MOF associated with zymosan-induced peritonitis in the rat.
Journal Article
Role of interleukin-6 in a non-septic shock model induced by zymosan.
S. Cuzzocrea,G.B. De Sarro,Giuseppina Costantino,Emanuela Mazzon,R. Laurà,E. Ciriaco,A. De Sarro,Achille P. Caputi +7 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that IL-6 exerts a role in zymosan-induced non-septic shock and in vivo treatment with anti-IL-6 significantly reduced the inflammatory process.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protective effects of M40403, a superoxide dismutase mimetic, in a rodent model of colitis
Salvatore Cuzzocrea,Emanuela Mazzon,Laura Dugo,Achille P. Caputi,Dennis P. Riley,Daniela Salvemini +5 more
TL;DR: The results of this study suggested that administration of a superoxide dismutase mimetic may be beneficial for treatment of inflammatory bowel disease.
