Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide association study of 107 phenotypes in Arabidopsis thaliana inbred lines
Susanna Atwell,Yu S. Huang,Bjarni J. Vilhjálmsson,Glenda Willems,Matthew W. Horton,Yan Li,Dazhe Meng,Alexander Platt,Aaron M. Tarone,Tina T. Hu,Rong Jiang,N. Wayan Muliyati,Xu Zhang,Muhammad Ali Amer,Ivan Baxter,Benjamin Brachi,Joanne Chory,Joanne Chory,Caroline Dean,Marilyne Debieu,Juliette de Meaux,Joseph R. Ecker,Nathalie Faure,Joel M. Kniskern,Jonathan D. G. Jones,Todd P. Michael,Adnane Nemri,Fabrice Roux,Fabrice Roux,David E. Salt,Chunlao Tang,Marco Todesco,M. Brian Traw,Detlef Weigel,Paul Marjoram,Justin O. Borevitz,Joy Bergelson,Magnus Nordborg +37 more
TL;DR: This study demonstrates the feasibility of GWA studies in A. thaliana and suggests that the approach will be appropriate for many other organisms, particularly when inbred lines are available.
Journal ArticleDOI
DELLAs control plant immune responses by modulating the balance of jasmonic acid and salicylic acid signaling.
Lionel Navarro,Rajendra Bari,Patrick Achard,Purificación Lisón,Adnane Nemri,Nicholas P. Harberd,Jonathan D. G. Jones +6 more
TL;DR: It is shown that DELLA stabilization contributes to flg22-induced growth inhibition and suggests an explanation for why the necrotrophic fungus Gibberella fujikuroi, causal agent of the foolish-seedling disease of rice, makes gibberellin.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Downy Mildew Effector Proteins ATR1 and ATR13 Promote Disease Susceptibility in Arabidopsis thaliana
TL;DR: It is concluded that ATR1 and ATR13 positively contribute to pathogen virulence inside host cells in Arabidopsis thaliana.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genome-wide survey of Arabidopsis natural variation in downy mildew resistance using combined association and linkage mapping
Adnane Nemri,Susanna Atwell,Aaron M. Tarone,Yu S. Huang,Keyan Zhao,David J. Studholme,Magnus Nordborg,Jonathan D. G. Jones +7 more
TL;DR: The basis for resistance to the downy mildew agent Hyaloperonospora arabidopsidis ex parasitica is investigated in a global sample of A. thaliana and it is found that resistance is usually governed by single dominant R genes that are concentrated in four genomic regions only.
Book ChapterDOI
Roles of Plant Hormones in Plant Resistance and Susceptibility to Pathogens
Lionel Navarro,Lionel Navarro,Rajendra Bari,Alexandre Seilaniantz,Adnane Nemri,Jonathan D. G. Jones +5 more
TL;DR: The data suggest that elevation of auxin levels constitute a bacterial pathogenicity strategy that is suppressed during the innate immune response to PAMPs, and showed that DELLA proteins play a role in the balance between salicylic acid and jasmonic acid–mediated defense signaling pathways.
