Aldo Amodeo,Gelsomina Pappalardo,Jens Bösenberg,Albert Ansmann,Arnoud Apituley,Lucas Alados-Arboledas,Dimitris Balis,Christine Böckmann,Anatoly Chaikovsky,Adolfo Comerón,Volker Freudenthaler,Ove Gustaffson,Georg Hansen,Valentin Mitev,Doina Nicolae,Alexandros Papayannis,Maria Rita Perrone,Aleksander Pietruczuk,Manuel Pujadas,Jean-Philippe Putaud,François Ravetta,Vincenzo Rizi,Valentin Simeonov,Nicola Spinelli,Dimitar Stoyanov,Thomas Trickl,Matthias Wiegner +26 more
TL;DR: The European Aerosol Research Lidar Network (EARLINET) as discussed by the authors is the first aerosol lidar network, established in 2000, with the main goal to provide a comprehensive, quantitative, and statistically significant database for the aerosol distribution on a continental scale.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Retrieving the atomspheric aerosol-size distribution by means of multiwavelength lidar
TL;DR: In this paper, a new method of retrieving the aerosol size distribution from the signals of a multi-wavelength lidar is presented, which allows to reconstruct the distribution without assuming the lidar ratio.
DatasetDOI

Journal ArticleDOI
An alternative method for aerosol optical thickness retrieval in the UV range
TL;DR: In this paper, the Mie theory was applied to estimate aerosol optical thickness (AOT) in the UV range by applying almucantar scans performed by the CIMEL sunphotometer at Belsk, Poland, in 2005.
Proceedings ArticleDOI
EARLINET-ASOS : programs and perspectives for the aerosol study on continental scale
Gelsomina Pappalardo,Jens Bösenberg,Aldo Amodeo,Albert Ansmann,Arnoud Apituley,Lucas Alados Arboledas,Dimitris Balis,Christine Böckmann,Anatoly Chaikovsky,Adolfo Comerón,Volker Freudenthaler,Georg Hansen,Valentin Mitev,Doina Nicolae,Alexandros Papayannis,Maria Rita Perrone,Aleksander Pietruczuk,Manuel Pujadas,Jean-Philippe Putaud,François Ravetta,Vincenzo Rizi,Valentin Simeonov,Nicola Spinelli,Dimitar Stoyanov,Thomas Trickl,Matthias Wiegner +25 more
TL;DR: The EARLINET-ASOS (Advanced Sustainable Observation System) EC Project as mentioned in this paper aims to provide a comprehensive, quantitative, and statistically significant data base for the aerosol distribution on a continental scale.
