Optical delivery of modulated millimetre-wave signals using free-running laser heteroyne with frequency drift cancellation
Leif A. Johansson,Alwyn J. Seeds +1 more
Proceedings ArticleDOI
Optical frequency synthesis for high spectral efficiency WDM transmission
Alwyn J. Seeds,C.F.C. Silva +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an optical frequency synthesis technique using optical injection phase-locked loop is discussed, which eliminates the wide bandwidth, short (<1 ns) loop propagation delay design constraints of conventional optical phase lock loops for use with non line-narrowed semiconductor lasers.

Surface/interface engineering of InAs quantum dot edge-emitting diodes toward III-V/SiN photonic integration
Yaonan Hou,Ilias Skandalos,Mingchu Tang,Hui Jia,Huiwen Deng,Xuezhe Yu,Yasir J. Noori,Spyros Stathopoulos,Siming Chen,Huiyun Liu,Alwyn J. Seeds,Graham T. Reed,Frederic Y. Gardes +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the surface and interface engineering on InAs QD emitters is investigated by fabricating and measuring a series of edge-emitting light emitting diodes with non-stoichiometric silicon nitride (SiN) layers with various refractive indices.

Long-wavelength InAs/InAlGaAs quantum dot microdisk lasers on InP (001) substrate
Hui Jia,Xuezhe Yu,Taojie Zhou,Calum Dear,Jia-Yi Yuan,Mingchu Tang,Zhao Yan,Bogdan-Petrin Ratiu,Qiang Li,Alwyn J. Seeds,Huiyun Liu,Siming Chen +11 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors presented a long-wavelength microdisk laser based on five stacks of self-assembled InAs/InAlGaAs quantum dots as the active medium, which were grown on InP (001) substrate by solid-source molecular beam epitaxy.
