Journal ArticleDOI

The 2017 terahertz science and technology roadmap

TL;DR: The 2017 roadmap of terahertz frequency electromagnetic radiation (100 GHz-30 THz) as discussed by the authors provides a snapshot of the present state of THz science and technology in 2017, and provides an opinion on the challenges and opportunities that the future holds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Terahertz spectroscopy of explosives and drugs

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe terahertz time-domain spectroscopy and examine the spectra of a wide range of drugs-of-abuse, pure explosives, and plastic explosives.
Journal ArticleDOI

Computer Systems Based on Silicon Photonic Interconnects

TL;DR: The power dissipation of a photonic link is explored, a roadmap to lower the energy-per-bit of silicon photonic interconnects is suggested, and the challenges that will be faced by device and circuit designers towards this goal are identified.
Journal ArticleDOI

Noncontact semiconductor wafer characterization with the terahertz Hall effect

TL;DR: In this article, the authors demonstrate noncontact measurements of the Hall mobility of doped semiconductor wafers with roughly 250 μm spatial resolution, using polarization rotation of focused beams of terahertz (THz) radiation in the presence of a static magnetic field.
