Risk factors associated to kidney stones in primary hyperparathyroidism
Sabrina Corbetta,Andrea A. Baccarelli,A. Aroldi,Leonardo Vicentini,G. B. Fogazzi,Cristina Eller-Vainicher,C. Ponticelli,Paolo Beck-Peccoz,Anna Spada +8 more
TL;DR: Investigation of clinical and biochemical parameters in kidney stone former (SF) and non-stone former (NSF) patients with PHPT found hypercalciuria, higher oxalate excretion and severe PHPT are associated with kidney stones in PHPT.
Journal ArticleDOI
CDC73 mutations and parafibromin immunohistochemistry in parathyroid tumors: clinical correlations in a single-centre patient cohort.
Vito Guarnieri,Claudia Battista,Lucia Anna Muscarella,Michele Bisceglia,Danilo de Martino,Filomena Baorda,Evaristo Maiello,Leonardo D'Agruma,Iacopo Chiodini,Celeste Clemente,Salvatore Minisola,Elisabetta Romagnoli,Sabrina Corbetta,Raffaella Viti,Cristina Eller-Vainicher,Anna Spada,Michela Iacobellis,Nazzarena Malavolta,Massimo Carella,Lucie Canaff,Lucie Canaff,Geoffrey N. Hendy,Geoffrey N. Hendy,David E. C. Cole,Alfredo Scillitani +24 more
TL;DR: CDC73 mutations and negative immunostaining were common in atypical adenomas, but no local recurrence was observed in any case with successful surgical removal after follow-up periods of 27 to 210 months.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced plasma thyrotrophin response to thyrotrophin-releasing hormone following oestradiol administration in man.
TL;DR: It is concluded that oestrogens play a role in modulating the secretion of TSH from the human pituitary and did not modify either the basal plasma TSH concentration or the serum thyroxine, the labelled tri‐iodothyronine uptake and the calculated free Thyroxine index.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vivo detection of somatostatin receptors in patients with functionless pituitary adenomas by means of a radioiodinated analog of somatostatin ([123I]SDZ 204-090).
Giovanni Faglia,Nicoletta Bazzoni,Anna Spada,Maura Arosio,Bruno Ambrosi,Franco Spinelli,Roberto Sara,Chiara Bonino,Fabio Lunghi +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used a Tyr3-substituted octreotide (SDZ 204-090) for external imaging of functionless pituitary adenomas displaying SRIH receptors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Somatostatin receptor subtype 2 and 5 in human GH-secreting pituitary adenomas: analysis of gene sequence and mRNA expression.
Sabrina Corbetta,Emilia Ballaré,Giovanna Mantovani,Andrea Lania,Marco Losa,A. M. Di Blasio,Anna Spada +6 more
TL;DR: The role of somatostatin receptor subtypes 2 and 5 (SSTR2 and SSTR5) in determining the secretory and proliferative phenotype as well as the sensitivity to somatOSTatin analogue treatment is not clearly established.
