Heat transfer characteristics of MWCNT nanofluid in rectangular mini channels
TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental comparative thermal analysis of Multi Walled Carbon Nano Tubes (MWCNT) in rectangular minichannels is presented, where a volume concentration of MWCNT nanoparticles were suspended in water as base fluid to obtain MWC NT-water nanofluid.
Journal ArticleDOI
The effect of ethanol-methanol-diesel-microalgae blends on performance, combustion and emissions of a direct injection diesel engine
Tikendra Nath Verma,Prerana Nashine,Prem Kumar Chaurasiya,Upendra Rajak,Asif Afzal,Sakendra Kumar,Dheerendra Vikram Singh,Abul Kalam Azad +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of hybrid fuels containing microalgae, ethanol, methanol and diesel fuel (base fuel) were blends on combustion, performance and emission characteristics and compare with base fuel.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhancing the solar still output using micro/nano-particles of aluminum oxide at different concentrations: An experimental study, energy, exergy and economic analysis
Belkheir Benoudina,Mohammed El Hadi Attia,Zied Driss,Asif Afzal,A. Muthu Manokar,Ravishankar Sathyamurthy +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the use of micro/Nano-particles of aluminum oxide (Al2O3) with various concentrations in solar still has been reported, and three solar distillers have been fabricated and tested: first distiller is a Conventional Solar Still (CSS), the second distillation is a modified solar still (MSS), and the third distiller contains nano-particle of Al 2O3 with the concentrations of 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3%.
Journal ArticleDOI
Optimization and analysis of maximum temperature in a battery pack affected by low to high Prandtl number coolants using response surface methodology and particle swarm optimization algorithm
TL;DR: In this paper, the thermal analysis of heat-generating battery pack cooled by several coolants is analyzed numerically, including gases, oils, thermal oils, nanofluids, and liquid metals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of primary and secondary alcohols as oxygenated additives on the performance and emission characteristics of diesel engine
M.A. Mujtaba,M.A. Mujtaba,Haeng Muk Cho,Haji Hassan Masjuki,Haji Hassan Masjuki,Md. Abul Kalam,Muhammad Farooq,Manzoore Elahi M. Soudagar,M. Gul,M. Gul,Asif Afzal,Waqar Ahmed,Asad Raza,T. M. Yunus Khan,Shahid Bashir,Zeeshan Ahmad +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of different alcohol types on engine performance and emission characteristics was investigated on a single-cylinder, 4-stroke, DI-diesel engine at different speeds at 100 % load.
