Nanoparticle contrast-enhanced micro-CT: A preclinical tool for the 3D imaging of liver and spleen in longitudinal mouse studies
Chang-Ning Liu,Jeffrey Morin,Melba G. Dokmanovich,Crystal T. Bluette,Richard Goldstein,Balasubramanian Manickam,Cedo M. Bagi +6 more
TL;DR: ExiTron nano12000 contrast agent-enhanced micro-CT could be used as a safe method in up to 29-day longitudinal efficacy and toxicology mouse studies for the non-invasive assessment of the liver and spleen.
Journal ArticleDOI
In silico approaches in carcinogenicity hazard assessment: Current status and future needs
Raymond R. Tice,Arianna Bassan,Alexander Amberg,Lennart T. Anger,Marc A. Beal,Phillip Bellion,Romualdo Benigni,Jeffrey M. Birmingham,Alessandro Brigo,Frank Bringezu,Lidia Ceriani,Ian Crooks,Kevin P. Cross,Rosalie K. Elespuru,David Faulkner,Marie C. Fortin,Paul Fowler,Markus Frericks,Helga Gerets,Gloria D. Jahnke,David R. Jones,Naomi L. Kruhlak,Elena Lo Piparo,Juan Lopez-Belmonte,Amarjit Luniwal,Alice Luu,Federica Madia,Serena Manganelli,Balasubramanian Manickam,Jordi Mestres,Amy L. Mihalchik-Burhans,Louise Neilson,Arun R. Pandiri,Manuela Pavan,Cynthia V. Rider,John P. Rooney,Alejandra Trejo-Martin,Karen H. Watanabe-Sailor,Angela White,David Woolley,Glenn J. Myatt +40 more
TL;DR: The current status of in silico tools for the assessment of each KC is summarized and the data gaps that need to be addressed are identified before a comprehensive insilico carcinogenicity protocol can be developed for regulatory use.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scientific and Regulatory Policy Committee Best Practices: Documentation of Sexual Maturity by Microscopic Evaluation in Nonclinical Safety Studies.
Justin D. Vidal,Karyn Colman,Manoj Bhaskaran,Eveline de Rijk,Darren Fegley,Wendy G. Halpern,Binod Jacob,Hitoshi Kandori,Balasubramanian Manickam,Sean McKeag,George A. Parker,Karen S. Regan,Benjamin Sefing,Michael S. Thibodeau,Vimala Vemireddi,Jonathan Werner,Aleksandra Zalewska +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, a review of the microscopic features of the immature, peripubertal, and mature male and female reproductive system and general considerations for study types and reporting are provided to aid the study pathologist tasked with documentation of sexual maturity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Automated monitoring of respiratory rate as a novel humane endpoint: A refinement in mouse metastatic lung cancer models.
Caroline B. Winn,Seo-Kyoung Hwang,Jeffrey Morin,Crystal T. Bluette,Balasubramanian Manickam,Ziyue K. Jiang,Anand Giddabasappa,Chang-Ning Liu,Kristin Matthews +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify objective non-invasive criteria for predicting imminent distress and mortality in metastatic lung tumor-bearing mice and propose that increases in respiratory rate (1.3-1.5 X) can be used to provide an objective benchmark to signal the need for increased clinical observations or euthanasia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Behavioral, Histopathologic, and Molecular Biological Responses of Nanoparticle- and Solution-Based Formulations of Vincristine in Mice.
Crystal T. Bluette,Ahmed M. Shoieb,Qinghai Peng,Balasubramanian Manickam,Wenhu Huang,Eyoung Shin,Wei Zhang,Young-Ho Song,Chang-Ning Liu +8 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the nano-VCR formulation may alleviate behavioral changes in CiPN, but it does not improve the structural changes of CiPN in peripheral nerve.
