Precise Measurement of the Left-Right Cross Section Asymmetry in Z Boson Production by e+e- Collisions

Koji Abe, +211 more
TL;DR: In this article, the left-right cross section asymmetry was measured for [ital Z] boson production by [ital e][sup +][ital e]-sup [minus] collisions at the SLAC Linear Collider (SLC).
Journal ArticleDOI

First measurement of the left-right cross section asymmetry in [ital Z] boson production by [ital e][sup +][ital e][sup [minus]] collisions

Koji Abe, +405 more
TL;DR: The first measurement of the left-right cross section asymmetry for Z boson production at the SLAC Linear Collider was presented in this paper. But this measurement was performed at a center-of-mass energy of 91.55 GeV with the SLD detector at SLAC and utilized a longitudinally polarized electron beam.
Journal ArticleDOI

Factorial and cumulant moments in e+e− → hadrons at the Z0 resonance

K. Abe, +223 more
- 21 Mar 1996 -
TL;DR: The first experimental study of the ratio of cumulant to factorial moments of the charged-particle multiplicity distribution in high-energy particle interactions, using hadronic Z0 decays collected by the SLD experiment at SLAC, was presented in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurements of Rb with impact parameters and displaced vertices

Koji Abe, +213 more
- 01 Feb 1996 -
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used 2D and 3D impact parameter tags and a displaced 3D vertex tag which all exploit the small size and stability of the e+e- interaction point and the precision 3D CCD pixel vertex detector to achieve high bb¯-tagging efficiencies and purities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of the Parity-Violation Parameter Ab from the Left-Right Forward-Backward Asymmetry of b Quark Production in Z0 Decays Using a Momentum-Weighted Track-Charge Technique

Koji Abe, +209 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the left-right forward-backward asymmetry for quark production as a function of polar angle based on 18pb{sup {minus}1} of the decay data produced with a mean electron beam polarization of {ital P}{sub {ital e}}=63%, which yields a direct measurement of the extent of parity violation in the quark coupling.
