Linac coherent light source (LCLS) conceptual design report

TL;DR: The Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) as mentioned in this paper is a free-electron-laser (FEL) R&D facility operating in the wavelength range 1.5-15 angstrom, which utilizes the SLAC linac and produces sub-picosecond pulses of short wavelength x-rays with very high peak brightness and full transverse coherence.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transverse to longitudinal emittance exchange

TL;DR: In this article, a scheme to exchange the transverse and longitudinal emittances of an electron bunch is proposed, where a transverse deflecting mode radio-frequency cavity is placed in a magnetic chicane.
Journal ArticleDOI

Precise Measurement of the Left-Right Cross Section Asymmetry in Z Boson Production by e+e- Collisions

Koji Abe, +211 more
TL;DR: In this article, the left-right cross section asymmetry was measured for [ital Z] boson production by [ital e][sup +][ital e]-sup [minus] collisions at the SLAC Linear Collider (SLC).
Journal ArticleDOI

Slice emittance measurements at the SLAC gun test facility

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the slice emittance at the Gun Test Facility (GTF) at SLAC and found that high brightness in the RF photocathode gun occurs when the time-sliced emittance is nearly the same as the cathode thermal emittance and when the slices are all lined up.
