Williamson,Guangyong Zou,Kim Hutchings,Candice Y. Johnson,Valerie Tait,Miriam Wiens,Jean Golding,Cornelia M. van Duijn,John R. McLaughlin,Andrew D. Paterson,George A. Wells,Isabel Fortier,Matthew L. Freedman,Maja Zecevic,Richard J. King,Claire Infante-Rivard,Alex Stewart,Nick Birkett +28 more
TL;DR: The STREGA recommendations are presented, which are aimed at improving the reporting of genetic association studies and are designed to improve the quality of studies.

Strengthening the reporting of genetic association studies (STREGA): an extension of the STROBE statement
Julian Little,Julian P T Higgins,John P. A. Ioannidis,John P. A. Ioannidis,David Moher,Erik von Elm,Erik von Elm,Muin J. Khoury,Barbara Cohen,George Davey-Smith,Jeremy M. McLaughlin,Andrew D. Paterson,George A. Wells,Isabel Fortier,Matthew L. Freedman,Maja Zecevic,Richard J. King,Claire Infante-Rivard,Alex Stewart,Nick Birkett +31 more
TL;DR: The STREGA recommendations do not prescribe or dictate how a genetic association study should be designed but seek to enhance the transparency of its reporting, regardless of choices made during design, conduct, or analysis.

Folate intake, markers of folate status and oral clefts: is the evidence converging?
Candice Y. Johnson,Julian Little +1 more
TL;DR: The evidence is not converging and there is no strong evidence for an association between oral clefts and folic acid intake alone, however, multivitamin use in early pregnancy may protect against oral cleft lip with or without cleft palate, especially CL/P although this association may be confounded by other lifestyle factors associated with multiv vitamin use.
