The epidemiology of adolescents living with perinatally acquired HIV: A cross-region global cohort analysis

Amy L. Slogrove, +79 more
- 01 Mar 2018 -
TL;DR: The geographic and temporal characteristics and mortality outcomes of APHs across multiple regions, including South America and the Caribbean, North America, Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, and South and Southeast Asia are described, and patient and treatment characteristics at key time points are described.
Journal ArticleDOI

Incidence of switching to second-line antiretroviral therapy and associated factors in children with HIV: an international cohort collaboration

TL;DR: The authors' global paediatric analysis found wide variations in the incidence of switching to second-line ART across monitoring strategies, and suggested the scale-up of viral load monitoring would probably increase demand for paediatric second- line ART formulations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Children and young people with perinatal HIV in Europe: epidemiological situation in 2014 and implications for the future

TL;DR: It is likely that the number of diagnoses of perinatal HIV reported to ECDC is an underestimate, although this varies by country, and further work is needed to refine estimates and encourage follow-up in adult HIV cohorts to investigate long-term outcomes and improve the care of the next generation of children with HIV.
Journal ArticleDOI

Outcomes of second-line antiretroviral therapy among children living with HIV: a global cohort analysis.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe outcomes on second-line antiretroviral therapy (ART) among children globally, using data from 1993 through 2015 from 11 paediatric HIV cohorts.
