Journal ArticleDOI
Evolution of functional six-nucleotide DNA.
Liqin Zhang,Zunyi Yang,Kwame Sefah,Kevin M. Bradley,Shuichi Hoshika,Myong-Jung Kim,Hyo-Joong Kim,Guizhi Zhu,Guizhi Zhu,Elizabeth Jiménez,Sena Cansiz,I-Ting Teng,Carole Champanhac,Christopher McLendon,Chen Liu,Wen Zhang,Dietlind L. Gerloff,Zhen Huang,Zhen Huang,Weihong Tan,Weihong Tan,Steven A. Benner +21 more
TL;DR: The GACTZP library was challenged to deliver molecules that bind selectively to liver cancer cells, but not to untransformed liver cells, unlike in classical in vitro selection, low levels of mutation allow this system to evolve to create binding molecules not necessarily present in the original library.
Journal ArticleDOI
Interleukin-6 Modulates Graft-versus-Host Responses after Experimental Allogeneic Bone Marrow Transplantation
Isao Tawara,Motoko Koyama,Chen Liu,Tomomi Toubai,Dafydd G. Thomas,Rebecca Evers,Peter Chockley,Evelyn Nieves,Yaping Sun,Kathleen P. Lowler,Chelsea Malter,Norihiro Nishimoto,Geoffrey R. Hill,Pavan Reddy +13 more
TL;DR: Blockade of IL-6 with anti–IL-6R mAb therapy may be testable in clinical trials as an adjunct to prevent GVHD in BMT patients without a significant loss of GVT.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of CXCR3-induced donor T-cell migration in acute GVHD.
Ulrich Duffner,Bao Lu,Gerhard C. Hildebrandt,Takanori Teshima,Debra L. Williams,Pavan Reddy,Rainer Ordemann,Shawn G. Clouthier,Kathy Lowler,Chen Liu,Craig Gerard,Kenneth R. Cooke,James L.M. Ferrara +12 more
TL;DR: The migration of donor CD8(+) T cells to GVHD target organs such as the intestine depends on the expression of CXCR3 and contributes significantly to GvHD damage and overall mortality.
Journal ArticleDOI
Manipulating the Bioenergetics of Alloreactive T Cells Causes Their Selective Apoptosis and Arrests Graft-Versus-Host Disease
Erin Gatza,Daniel R. Wahl,Anthony W. Opipari,Thomas B. Sundberg,Pavan Reddy,Chen Liu,Gary D. Glick,James L.M. Ferrara +7 more
TL;DR: After bone marrow transplantation, alloreactive T cells, but not other proliferating T cells and bone marrow cells, up-regulated both aerobic glycolysis and OXPHOS to meet their increased energy demand to prevent graft-versus-host disease (GVHD).
Journal ArticleDOI
Prevention of GVHD while sparing GVL effect by targeting Th1 and Th17 transcription factor T-bet and RORγt in mice
TL;DR: It is shown that GVHD can be prevented by targeting Th1 and Th17 transcription factors without offsetting GVL activity, and this data indicates that HCT benefits are frequently offset by the destructive GV HD.
