TL;DR: In this paper, the authors summarized the spacecraft, in-orbit performance, operations, and data processing that are related to observations of the Suzaku X-ray observatory, including high-sensitivity wide-band Xray spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Suzaku Observations of the Hard X-ray Variability of MCG-6-30-15: the Effects of Strong Gravity Around a Kerr Black Hole
Giovanni Miniutti,Andrew C. Fabian,Naohisa Anabuki,J. Crummy,Yasushi Fukazawa,Luigi C. Gallo,Yoshito Haba,Kiyoshi Hayashida,Stephen S. Ushio,Shin Watanabe,Makoto Yamauchi,Tahir Yaqoob,Tahir Yaqoob +26 more
TL;DR: Suzaku has, for the first time, enabled the hard X-ray variability of the Seyfert 1 galaxy MCG −6-30-15 to be measured as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Another Interpretation of the Disk-Line Profile for the Seyfert 1 Galaxy MCG-6-30-15
Hajime Inoue,Chiho Matsumoto +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, an energy-dependent change in the RMS variability as a function of the time-bin-width was observed in the Seyfert 1 galaxy MCG−6-30-15.
Journal ArticleDOI
An XMM-Newton Observation of the Seyfert 2 Galaxy NGC 6300. I. The Nucleus
Chiho Matsumoto,Chiho Matsumoto,A. Nava,L. A. Maddox,Karen M. Leighly,Dirk Grupe,Hisamitsu Awaki,Shiro Ueno +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, a half-day observation by XMM-Newton of the nucleus of the nearby Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 6300 is presented, where the X-ray spectrum consists of a heavily absorbed hard component dominating the 3-10 keV band and a soft component seen in the 0.2-2-kV band.
Journal ArticleDOI
Suzaku observation of the metallicity in the hot interstellar medium of the isolated elliptical galaxy NGC 720
Yuzuru Tawara,Chiho Matsumoto,Miyako Tozuka,Yasushi Fukazawa,Kyoko Matsushita,Naohisa Anabuki +5 more
TL;DR: The metal abundances in the interstellar medium of the isolated elliptical galaxy NGC 720 were studied with the CCD X-ray Imaging Spectrometer (XIS) aboard the Suzaku satellite as mentioned in this paper.
