Validation and utility of the patient health questionnaire in diagnosing mental disorders in 1003 general hospital Spanish inpatients
Crisanto Diez-Quevedo,Teresa Rangil,Luis Sanchez-Planell,Kurt Kroenke,Robert L. Spitzer,Robert L. Spitzer +5 more
TL;DR: The Spanish version of the patient health questionnaire (PHQ) has diagnostic validity in general hospital inpatients comparable to the original English version in primary care.
Journal ArticleDOI
Hepatitis C infection, antiviral treatment and mental health: a European expert consensus statement.
Martin Schaefer,Lucile Capuron,Astrid Friebe,Crisanto Diez-Quevedo,Geert Robaeys,Sergio Neri,Graham R. Foster,Achim Kautz,Daniel M. Forton,Carmine M. Pariante +9 more
TL;DR: The summarised current knowledge about mental health changes before and during antiviral treatment should improve interdisciplinary management of HCV infected patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: The combination was estimated to reduce the number of participants needing to complete the full PHQ-9 by 57% (56%-58%) and to understand the clinical and research value of this combined approach to screening.
Journal ArticleDOI
Patient Health Questionnaire-9 scores do not accurately estimate depression prevalence: individual participant data meta-analysis
Brooke Levis,Andrea Benedetti,John P. A. Ioannidis,Ying Sun,Zelalem Negeri,Chen He,Yin Wu,Ankur Krishnan,Parash Mani Bhandari,Dipika Neupane,Mahrukh Imran,Danielle B. Rice,Kira E. Wagner,Jennifer White,Kirsty Winkley,Brett D. Thombs +75 more
TL;DR: PHQ-9 ≥ 10 substantially overestimates depression prevalence because of too much heterogeneity to correct statistically in individual studies, and an alternative PHZ-9 cutoff could more accurately estimate prevalence.
Journal ArticleDOI
De novo depression and anxiety disorders and influence on adherence during peginterferon‐alpha‐2a and ribavirin treatment in patients with hepatitis C
Rocío Martín-Santos,Crisanto Diez-Quevedo,P. Castellví,Ricard Navinés,M. Miquel,Helena Masnou,A. Soler,Mercè Ardèvol,F. García,J.A. Galeras,Ramon Planas,Ricard Solà +11 more
TL;DR: This data indicates that pre-existing depression and anxiety have been associated with interferon treatment and low treatment adherence and this data points to the need to investigate further the mechanisms behind this association.
