Matteo Brezzi,Barbara Bertisch,Maroussia Roelens,Darius Moradpour,Benedetta Terziroli Beretta-Piccoli,Nasser Semmo,Beat Müllhaupt,David Semela,Francesco Negro,Olivia Keiser +9 more
TL;DR: In Switzerland, a country with universal healthcare, geographic origin had no influence on hepatitis C treatment access, and the better treatment outcomes among foreign-born Persons were likely explained by their lower prevalence of IDU and alcohol consumption than among Swiss-born persons.

Human genomics of acute liver failure due to hepatitis B virus infection: An exome sequencing study in liver transplant recipients.
Samira Asgari,Samira Asgari,Samira Asgari,Nimisha Chaturvedi,Nimisha Chaturvedi,Petar Scepanovic,Petar Scepanovic,Christian Hammer,Christian Hammer,Nasser Semmo,Emiliano Giostra,Beat Müllhaupt,Peter W Angus,Alexander J. Thompson,Darius Moradpour,Jacques Fellay,Jacques Fellay,Jacques Fellay +17 more
TL;DR: A first attempt at deciphering the human genetic contribution to the most severe clinical presentation of acute HBV infection in previously healthy individuals does not support the hypothesis of a shared monogenic basis for human susceptibility to HBV‐related ALF in adults.

An update on hepatitis E
Philippe Hiroz,Jérôme Gouttenoire,Dao Thi Vl,Roland Sahli,Amalio Telenti,Darius Moradpour,Christopher Doerig +6 more
TL;DR: Serology is not sufficiently sensitive, especially in immunosuppressed patients, making PCR identification the preferred test for diagnosing active infection and Ribavirin or interferon-alpha can be used to treat chronic hepatitis E if reduction of Immunosuppressive treatment does not result in viral elimination.

[Outpatient follow-up of liver transplant recipients: the essential role of the general practitioner].
Sarah Henchoz,Montserrat Fraga,Anne-Catherine Saouli,Laure Elkrief,Thierry Berney,Christian Toso,Philippe Compagnon,Axel Andres,Alban Denys,Manuel Pascual,Darius Moradpour,Emiliano Giostra,Julien Vionnet +12 more
TL;DR: The role of the general practitioner in the long-term follow-up of liver transplant recipients is of the highest importance and can represent the first-line care of these patients as soon as 6 to 12 months post-transplantation, while maintaining a close and regular collaboration with the transplant center.
