Journal ArticleDOI
Endosaccular flow disruption: where are we now?
Pervinder Bhogal,Sundip D. Udani,Christophe Cognard,Michel Piotin,Patrick A. Brouwer,Nader-Antoine Sourour,Tommy Andersson,Levansri Makalanda,Ken Wong,David Fiorella,Adam S Arthur,Leonard L.L. Yeo,Michael Söderman,Hans Henkes,Laurent Pierot +14 more
TL;DR: The aim of this article is to provide an overview of these devices and to summarize the evidence in the literature pertaining to the treatment of intracranial aneurysms with them.
Journal ArticleDOI
Stent-assisted coiling of cerebral aneurysms: multi-center analysis of radiographic and clinical outcomes in 659 patients.
Maxim Mokin,Christopher T. Primiani,Zeguang Ren,Keaton Piper,David Fiorella,Ansaar T Rai,K Orlov,Dmitry Kislitsin,A Gorbatykh,J Mocco,Reade De Leacy,Joyce Lee,Jan Vargas Machaj,Raymond D Turner,Imran Chaudry,Aquilla S Turk +15 more
TL;DR: There was a great variability in techniques and choice of stent type for stent-assisted coiling among the participating centers, and the type of stents was associated with immediate and long-term angiographic outcomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Arterial reconstruction by direct surgical clipping of a basilar artery dissecting aneurysm after failed vertebral artery occlusion: Technical case report and literature review
Mir Jafer Ali,Bernard R. Bendok,Mallik N. Tella,James P. Chandler,Christopher C. Getch,H. Hunt Batjer,Gary K. Steinberg,Laligam N. Sekhar,Dinko Stimac,Robert A. Solomon,David Fiorella,Felipe C. Albuquerque,Robert F. Spetzler +12 more
TL;DR: This is the first case reported in the literature in which direct surgical clipping was used as the primary mode of treatment for a basilar artery dissecting aneurysm that enlarged despite occlusion of the dominant vertebral artery.
Journal ArticleDOI
Morbidity and Mortality in Patients With Posterior Circulation Aneurysms Treated With the Pipeline Embolization Device: A Subgroup Analysis of the International Retrospective Study of the Pipeline Embolization Device.
Demetrius K. Lopes,Dong Kyu Jang,Saruhan Cekirge,David Fiorella,Ricardo A. Hanel,David F. Kallmes,Elad I. Levy,Pedro Lylyk +7 more
TL;DR: The major complications appear to be comparable to those reported previously after clipping and coiling in the literature and neurointerventionists should consider the shape, size, rupture, and location of complex posterior circulation aneurysms as well as age and PED number before the PED placement.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Hydrogel Endovascular Aneurysm Treatment Trial (HEAT): A Randomized Controlled Trial of the Second-Generation Hydrogel Coil.

Evans,Ankur Garg,Shervin Dashti,Sung Lee,Roberts James,Mahesh V Jayaraman,Sudhakar R Satti,Eric Sauvageau,Jeremy D. Fields,Thomas Grobelny,Johnathan Hartman +63 more
TL;DR: Coiling of small-to-medium aneurysms with second-generation HES resulted in less recurrence when compared to BPC, without increased harm, and these data further support the use of the second- Generation HES for the embolization of intracranial aneurYSms.
