Deep Recurrent Neural Network for Agricultural Classification using multitemporal SAR Sentinel-1 for Camargue, France
TL;DR: A better understanding of the capabilities of Sentinel-1 radar images for agricultural land cover mapping through the use of deep learning techniques is provided and it is found that in the near future these RNN-based techniques will play an important role in the analysis of remote sensing time series.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relating P-Band Synthetic Aperture Radar Tomography to Tropical Forest Biomass
Dinh Ho Tong Minh,Thuy Le Toan,Fabio Rocca,Stefano Tebaldini,Mauro Mariotti d'Alessandro,Ludovic Villard +5 more
TL;DR: This study presents an attempt to overcome the issues outlined above based on direct 3-D imaging of the forest volume, which is possible through multibaseline SAR tomography, and the relevance of tomographic technique in P-band spaceborne mission is discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Combining Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 Satellite Image Time Series for land cover mapping via a multi-source deep learning architecture
TL;DR: A deep learning architecture to combine information coming from S1 and S2 time series, namely TWINNS (TWIn Neural Networks for Sentinel data), able to discover spatial and temporal dependencies in both types of SITS is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
The European Space Agency BIOMASS mission: Measuring forest above-ground biomass from space
Shaun Quegan,Thuy Le Toan,Jérôme Chave,Jørgen Dall,Jean-François Exbrayat,Dinh Ho Tong Minh,Mark R. Lomas,Mauro Mariotti d'Alessandro,Philippe Paillou,Kostas Papathanassiou,Fabio Rocca,Sassan Saatchi,Sassan Saatchi,Klaus Scipal,Hank Shugart,T. Luke Smallman,Maciej J. Soja,Maciej J. Soja,Stefano Tebaldini,Lars M. H. Ulander,Ludovic Villard,Mathew Williams +21 more
TL;DR: The European Space Agency's 7th Earth Explorer mission, BIOMASS, is to determine the worldwide distribution of forest above-ground biomass (AGB) in order to reduce the major uncertainties in calculations of carbon stocks and fluxes associated with the terrestrial biosphere, including carbon fluxe associated with Land Use Change, forest degradation and forest regrowth as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
SAR tomography for the retrieval of forest biomass and height: cross-validation at two tropical forest sites in French Guiana
Dinh Ho Tong Minh,Dinh Ho Tong Minh,Thuy Le Toan,Fabio Rocca,Stefano Tebaldini,Ludovic Villard,Maxime Réjou-Méchain,Maxime Réjou-Méchain,Oliver L. Phillips,Ted R. Feldpausch,Pascale Dubois-Fernandez,Klaus Scipal,Jérôme Chave +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, a method to retrieve the top-of-canopy height from TomoSAR data was proposed, with an error of only 10% at 1.5-ha resolution.
