The Miniball spectrometer

N. Warr, +102 more
TL;DR: The Miniball germanium detector array has been operational at the REX (Radioactive ion beam EXperiment) post accelerator at the Isotope Separator On-Line facility ISOLDE at CERN since 2001.
Journal ArticleDOI

A polyethylene-B4C based concrete for enhanced neutron shielding at neutron research facilities

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present a specialized concrete for neutron shielding at neutron research facilities, based on the addition of hydrogen atoms in the form of polyethylene and also B4C for enhancing the neutron capture properties of the concrete.
Journal ArticleDOI

Coulomb Excitation of 104Sn and the Strength of the 100Sn Shell Closure

TL;DR: A measurement of the reduced transition probability for the excitation of the ground state to the first 2+ state in 104Sn has been performed using relativistic Coulomb excitation at GSI, indicating a robust N = Z = 50 shell closure.
