Water emission from the high-mass star-forming region IRAS 17233-3606. High water abundances at high velocities
S. Leurini,Antoine Gusdorf,Friedrich Wyrowski,C. Codella,Timea Csengeri,F. F. S. van der Tak,Henrik Beuther,D. R. Flower,C. Comito,Peter Schilke +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated the physical and chemical processes at work during the formation of a massive protostar based on the observation of water in an outflow from a very young object previously detected in H2 and SiO in the IRAS 17233-3606 region.
Journal ArticleDOI
HIFI observations of warm gas in DR21: Shock versus radiative heating
Volker Ossenkopf,Volker Ossenkopf,Markus Röllig,Robert Simon,Nicola Schneider,Yoko Okada,Juergen Stutzki,Maryvonne Gerin,M. Akyilmaz,D. A. Beintema,Arnold O. Benz,Olivier Berné,F. Rizzo,F. F. S. van der Tak,F. F. S. van der Tak,D. Teyssier,Harold W. Yorke +41 more
TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the emission of all lines up to ≳2 THz can be explained by purely radiative heating of the material, despite the known shock-excitation of H_2 and the clearly visible strong outflow.
Journal ArticleDOI
The ISO Long Wavelength Spectrometer line spectrum of VY Canis Majoris and other oxygen-rich evolved stars
E. T. Polehampton,E. T. Polehampton,E. T. Polehampton,Karl M. Menten,F. F. S. van der Tak,Glenn J. White,Glenn J. White +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a fitting method was developed to account for blended water lines using a simple weighting scheme to distribute the flux, and used this fit to separate lines due to other species which cannot be assigned to water.
Journal ArticleDOI
Probing the cold magnetized Universe with SPICA-POL (B-BOP)
Ph. André,Annie Hughes,Vincent Guillet,F. Boulanger,Andrea Bracco,Evangelia Ntormousi,Doris Arzoumanian,A. Maury,J.-Ph. Bernard,Sylvain Bontemps,I. Ristorcelli,Josep M. Soler,Luigi Spinoglio,Fatemeh Tabatabaei,Aris Tritsis,F. F. S. van der Tak,Derek Ward-Thompson,Helmut Wiesemeyer,Nathalie Ysard,Han Zhang +55 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present an overview of the main science drivers for B-BOP, including high dynamic range polarimetric imaging of the cold interstellar medium (ISM) in both our Milky Way and nearby galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complex cyanides as chemical clocks in hot cores
TL;DR: In this paper, the physical origin of the large abundance difference in complex cyanides within G35.74 B has been determined in a gas-grain astrochemical modeling experiments with exponentially increasing (coupled) gas and dust temperature at constant H₂ densities.
