Journal ArticleDOI
Alignment between flattened protostellar infall envelopes and ambient magnetic fields
Nicholas Chapman,Jacqueline A. Davidson,Paul F. Goldsmith,Martin Houde,Martin Houde,Woojin Kwon,Woojin Kwon,Zhi-Yun Li,Leslie W. Looney,Brenda C. Matthews,Brenda C. Matthews,Tristan G. Matthews,Giles Novak,Ruisheng Peng,John E. Vaillancourt,Nikolaus H. Volgenau +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present 350 μm polarization observations of four low-mass cores containing Class 0 protostars: L483, L1157, L1448-IRS2, and Serp-FIR1.
Journal ArticleDOI
A rotating protostellar jet launched from the innermost disk of HH 212
Chin-Fei Lee,Chin-Fei Lee,Paul T. P. Ho,Paul T. P. Ho,Zhi-Yun Li,Naomi Hirano,Qizhou Zhang,Hsien Shang +7 more
TL;DR: Lee et al. as mentioned in this paper showed that residual angular momentum is removed at radii outside 10 AU by disk winds from the surfaces of protoplanetary disks, which is the radius at which the disk rotates.
Journal ArticleDOI
ALMA Reveals Transition of Polarization Pattern with Wavelength in HL Tau's Disk
Ian W. Stephens,Haifeng Yang,Zhi-Yun Li,Leslie W. Looney,Akimasa Kataoka,Woojin Kwon,Woojin Kwon,Manuel Fernández-López,Charles L. H. Hull,Meredith Hughes,Dominique Segura-Cox,Lee G. Mundy,Richard M. Crutcher,Ramprasad Rao +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the ALMA polarization observations of HL Tau for two more wavelengths: 870 $\mu$m and 1.3 mm, were presented and it was shown that the dominant (sub)millimeter polarization mechanism transitions with wavelength.
Journal ArticleDOI
The vla nascent disk and multiplicity survey of perseus protostars (VANDAM). IV. Free-free emission from protostars: Links to infrared properties, outflow tracers, and protostellar disk masses
Łukasz Tychoniec,Łukasz Tychoniec,John J. Tobin,John J. Tobin,Agata Karska,Claire J. Chandler,Michael M. Dunham,Michael M. Dunham,Robert J. Harris,Kaitlin M. Kratter,Zhi-Yun Li,Leslie W. Looney,Carl Melis,Laura M. Pérez,Laura M. Pérez,Sarah Sadavoy,Sarah Sadavoy,Dominique Segura-Cox,Ewine F. van Dishoeck,Ewine F. van Dishoeck +19 more
TL;DR: In this article, a C-band (4.1 cm and 6.4 cm) survey of all known protostars (Class 0 and Class I) in Perseus as part of the VLA Nascent Disk and Multiplicity (VANDAM) Survey is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Unveiling the Role of the Magnetic Field at the Smallest Scales of Star Formation
Charles L. H. Hull,Philip Mocz,Blakesley Burkhart,Alyssa A. Goodman,Josep M. Girart,Paulo C. Cortes,Lars Hernquist,Volker Springel,Volker Springel,Zhi-Yun Li,Shih-Ping Lai,Shih-Ping Lai +11 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report ALMA observations of polarized dust emission from the protostellar source Ser-emb 8 at a linear resolution of 140 au. Assuming models of dust-grain alignment hold, the observed polarization pattern gives a projected view of the magnetic field structure in this source.
