Journal ArticleDOI

Improved Synthesis and Mutagenicity of Oligonucleotides Containing 5‐Hydroxymethylcytosine, 5‐Formylcytosine and 5‐Carboxylcytosine

TL;DR: Efficient syntheses of phosphoramidites are shown which enable the synthesis of DNA strands containing these cytosine modifications based on Pd(0)-catalyzed functionalization of 5-iododeoxycytidine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cell-penetrating and neurotargeting dendritic siRNA nanostructures.

TL;DR: The development of dendritic siRNA nanostructures that are able to penetrate even difficult to transfect cells such as neurons with the help of a special receptor ligand open up new avenues toward finding novel molecules able to cure this deadly disease.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of a DNA promoter segment containing all four epigenetic nucleosides: 5-methyl-, 5-hydroxymethyl-, 5-formyl-, and 5-carboxy-2'-deoxycytidine.

TL;DR: A 5-formyl-2'-deoxycytidine phosphoramidite building block that enables the synthesis of fdC-containing DNA with excellent purity and yield has been developed and it was possible to prepare a segment of the OCT-4 promoter that contains all four epigenetic bases.
