Journal ArticleDOI
Mesoporous silicon particles as a multistage delivery system for imaging and therapeutic applications
Ennio Tasciotti,Xuewu Liu,Rohan Bhavane,Kevin D. Plant,Ashley D. Leonard,B. Katherine Price,Mark Ming-Cheng Cheng,Paolo Decuzzi,James M. Tour,Fredika M. Robertson,Mauro Ferrari,Mauro Ferrari,Mauro Ferrari +12 more
TL;DR: A multistage delivery system that can carry, release over time and deliver two types of nanoparticles into primary endothelial cells is shown, based on biodegradable and biocompatible mesoporous silicon particles that have well-controlled shapes, sizes and pores.
Journal ArticleDOI
International expert panel on inflammatory breast cancer: consensus statement for standardized diagnosis and treatment
Shaheenah Dawood,Sofia D. Merajver,Patrice Viens,Peter B. Vermeulen,Sandra M. Swain,Thomas A. Buchholz,Luc Dirix,Paul H. Levine,Anthony Lucci,Savitri Krishnamurthy,Fredika M. Robertson,Wendy A. Woodward,Wei Tse Yang,Naoto T. Ueno,Massimo Cristofanilli +14 more
TL;DR: These guidelines are designed to help the clinical diagnosis of this rare disease and to standardize management of IBC among treating physicians in both the academic and community settings.
Journal ArticleDOI
Inflammatory Breast Cancer: The Disease, the Biology, the Treatment
Fredika M. Robertson,Melissa L. Bondy,Wei Yang,Hideko Yamauchi,Shannon N. Wiggins,Samira A. Kamrudin,Savitri Krishnamurthy,Huong T. Le-Petross,Luc Bidaut,Audrey N. Player,Sanford H. Barsky,Wendy A. Woodward,Thomas A. Buchholz,Anthony Lucci,Naoto T. Ueno,Massimo Cristofanilli +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a review examines IBC's unique clinical presentation, pathology, epidemiology, imaging, and biology and details current multidisciplinary management of the disease, which comprises systemic therapy, surgery, and radiation therapy.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cyclooxygenase-2 gene expression in human breast cancer.
Michelle L. Parrett,Randall E. Harris,Farahnaz S. Joarder,Mary S. Ross,K. P. Clausen,Fredika M. Robertson +5 more
TL;DR: Results indicate that COX-2 gene expression may be useful as a molecular biomarker for human breast tumors and may also predict sensitivity to treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlation of aromatase and cyclooxygenase gene expression in human breast cancer specimens
Robert W. Brueggemeier,Anne L. Quinn,Michelle L. Parrett,Farahnaz S. Joarder,Randall E. Harris,Fredika M. Robertson +5 more
TL;DR: Positive correlations were observed between CYP19 and COX-2 and the greater extent of breast cancer cellularity, suggesting that autocrine and paracrine mechanisms may be involved in hormone-dependent breast cancer development via growth stimulation from local estrogen biosynthesis.
