Journal ArticleDOI

DoPET: an in-treatment monitoring system for proton therapy at 62 MeV

TL;DR: To demonstrate the capability of DoPET to detect changes in the delivered treatment plan with respect to the planned one, various treatment plans were used delivering a standard 15 Gy fraction to an anthropomorphic phantom and studies performed with PMMA phantoms where the DoPET response was characterized in terms of different dose rates and in presence of range shifters are presented.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Monte Carlo simulation for the transport beamline

TL;DR: In this paper, a Monte Carlo (MC) simulation is used to study the physical transport of charged particles generated by laser-target interactions and to preliminarily evaluate fluence and dose distributions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Anti-Tumour Activity of Fotemustine and Protons in Combination with Bevacizumab

TL;DR: In vitro studies of the anti-proliferative effects of fotemustine, bevacizumab and proton irradiation on resistant HTB140 human melanoma cells found that these treatments reduced cell viability and proliferation, triggered G1 or G2 cell cycle phase accumulation and stimulated apoptotic cell death.
Journal ArticleDOI

Investigation of ion acceleration mechanism through laser-matter interaction in femtosecond domain

TL;DR: An experimental campaign aiming to investigate the ion acceleration mechanisms through laser-matter interaction in the femtosecond domain has been carried out at the ILIL facility at a laser intensity of up to 2×10 19 ǫ W/cm 2, where a Thomson Parabola Spectrometer was used to identify different ion species and measure the energy spectra and corresponding temperature parameters.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of neutron spectra generated by a 62 AMeV carbon-ion beam on a PMMA phantom using extended range Bonner sphere spectrometers

TL;DR: In this article, a measurement campaign was carried out at the Centro di AdroTerapia e Applicazioni Nucleari Avanzate (CATANA) of INFN-LNS (Laboratori Nazionali del Sud), where a 62 AMeV carbon ion is available.
