Journal ArticleDOI

Electronic Structure and Stability of [B12X12]2- (X = F-At): A Combined Photoelectron Spectroscopic and Theoretical Study.

TL;DR: The unusual intrinsic electronic structure of the [B12X12]2- MCAs provides the basis for a molecular level understanding of their observed unique physical and chemical properties and a new paradigm for understanding the properties of these MCAs with not well-separated charges that departs from the prevailing model used for spatially separated charges.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Diagnostics of Laser-Induced Fluorescence (LIF) Spectra of PAHs in Flame with TD-DFT: Special Focus on Five-Membered Ring.

TL;DR: The electronic emission characteristics of 13 gas-phase PAHs were investigated to diagnose laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) spectra ofPAHs in flame by DFT, TD-DFT, and premixed flame modeling methods and it was found that naphthalene should be responsible for the fluorescence located in the 312-340 nm region in the flame.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectroscopic Characterization, Computational Investigation, and Comparisons of ECX- (E = As, P, and N; X = S and O) Anions.

TL;DR: In this article, three newly synthesized [Na+(221-Kryptofix)] salts containing AsCO, PCO, and PCS were successfully electrosprayed into a vacuum, and these three ECX-anions were investigated by negative ion photoelectron spectroscopy (NIPES) along with high-resolution photo-electron imaging spectroscopic.
