Journal ArticleDOI

Aberrant mucin assembly in mice causes endoplasmic reticulum stress and spontaneous inflammation resembling ulcerative colitis.

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that mucin misfolding and ER stress initiate colitis in mice, and that ER stress-related mucin depletion could be a fundamental component of the pathogenesis of human colitis and that clinical studies combining genetics, ER stressed pathology and relevant environmental epidemiology are warranted.
Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of human placenta- and bone marrow-derived multipotent mesenchymal stem cells.

TL;DR: It is suggested that human placenta is an acceptable alternative source for human MSC and their use is currently being evaluated in clinical trials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Use of Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization–Time of Flight Mass Spectrometry To Identify Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci and Investigate the Epidemiology of an Outbreak

TL;DR: In this paper, Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS) was used to identify vanB-positive enterococcus faecium VRE from susceptible isolates.
Journal ArticleDOI

Development and validation of a novel molecular biomarker diagnostic test for the early detection of sepsis

TL;DR: This novel molecular biomarker test has a clinically relevant sensitivity and specificity profile, and has the capacity for early detection of sepsis via the monitoring of critical care patients.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Galaxy platform for accessible, reproducible and collaborative biomedical analyses: 2022 update

Enis Afgan, +99 more
TL;DR: Key Galaxy technical developments include an improved user interface for launching large-scale analyses with many files, interactive tools for exploratory data analysis, and a complete suite of machine learning tools.
