SRF regulates Bcl-2 expression and promotes cell survival during murine embryonic development
Gerhard Schratt,Ulrike Philippar,Dirk Hockemeyer,Heinz Schwarz,Siegfried Alberti,Alfred Nordheim +5 more
TL;DR: Reconstituting Bcl‐2 in Srf(−/−) ES cells rescues these cells from apoptosis, demonstrating that SRF‐dependent B cl‐2 expression is critical for ES cell survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNAs in neuronal development, function and dysfunction.
Reuben Saba,Gerhard Schratt +1 more
TL;DR: The central aim of this review is to highlight recent findings in the field of miRNAs in neuronal development, function and dysfunction.
Journal ArticleDOI
MicroRNA-137 Controls AMPA-Receptor-Mediated Transmission and mGluR-Dependent LTD
Nikkie F.M. Olde Loohuis,Wei Ba,Peter H. Stoerchel,Aron Kos,Amanda Jager,Gerhard Schratt,Gerard J.M. Martens,Hans van Bokhoven,Nael Nadif Kasri,Armaz Aschrafi +9 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that miR-137 is a key factor in the control of synaptic efficacy and mGluR-dependent synaptic plasticity, supporting the notion that glutamatergic dysfunction contributes to the pathogenesis of miR -137-linked cognitive impairments.
Book ChapterDOI
MicroRNA function in the nervous system.
TL;DR: This chapter summarizes the current knowledge of miRNA functions during neuronal development, physiology, and dysfunction and investigates their role in neurological diseases and disorders.
Journal ArticleDOI
A microRNA‐129‐5p/Rbfox crosstalk coordinates homeostatic downscaling of excitatory synapses
Marek Rajman,Franziska Metge,Roberto Fiore,Sharof Khudayberdiev,Ayla Aksoy-Aksel,Silvia Bicker,Cristina R. Reschke,Rana Raoof,Gary P. Brennan,Norman Delanty,Michael A. Farrell,Donncha F. O’Brien,Sebastian Bauer,Sebastian Bauer,Braxton A. Norwood,Braxton A. Norwood,Morten T. Venø,Marcus Krüger,Thomas Braun,Jørgen Kjems,Felix Rosenow,Felix Rosenow,David C. Henshall,Christoph Dieterich,Gerhard Schratt +24 more
TL;DR: A novel activity‐dependent miRNA/RBP crosstalk during synaptic scaling is identified, with potential implications for neural network homeostasis and epileptogenesis.
