The transport of digoxin across the perfused human placental lobule.

TL;DR: Viability of the placental preparation was validated by measuring the rates of glucose and oxygen consumption, lactate production and synthesis of the protein hormone, chorionic gonadotropin, and support the relevance of using the in vitro placental perfusion model to obtain information regarding placental drug transfer in humans.
Journal ArticleDOI

MOTHERISK ROUNDS: The Fetal Safety of Fluoxetine: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed a systematic review of the literature, searching PubMed, Medline, and Embase from inception to August 31, 2012, for cohort and case-control studies in which women were exposed to fluoxetine during the first trimester and compared outcomes with those of unexposed control subjects.
Journal ArticleDOI

Complex excitation dynamics underlie polymorphic ventricular tachycardia in a transgenic rabbit model of long QT syndrome type 1

TL;DR: This study demonstrates that pVT in LQT1 rabbits is initiated by focal excitations from the RV and is maintained by multiple shifting foci in both ventricles, and wave conduction in pVT exhibits bi-excitability, that is, fast wavefronts driven by INa and slow wave fronts driven by ICa co-exist during pVT.
Journal ArticleDOI

Topical 4% Amethocaine Gel Reduces the Pain of Subcutaneous Measles-Mumps-Rubella Vaccination

TL;DR: 4% Amethocaine significantly reduces the pain of measles-mumps-rubella vaccination in infants when compared with placebo and does not seem to interfere with subsequent development of protective antibody levels.
Journal ArticleDOI

Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and Pregnancy

TL;DR: Evidence is suggested that when properly treated, pregnancy does not affect the course of lymphoma, and the risk to the fetus can also be reduced by an appropriate therapeutic approach.
