Journal ArticleDOI

Comparison of meconium and neonatal hair analysis for detection of gestational exposure to drugs of abuse

TL;DR: Meconium was marginally more sensitive than neonatal hair for detection of cocaine and cannabis, possibly because it may detect second trimester exposure whereas hair grows only during the third trimester of pregnancy.
Journal Article

Safety of the new quinolones in pregnancy.

TL;DR: The use of the new quinolones during the first trimester of pregnancy does not appear to be associated with an increased risk of malformations or musculoskeletal problems; however, longer follow-up and magnetic resonance imaging of the joints may be warranted to exclude subtle cartilage and bone damage.
Journal ArticleDOI

A multicentre prospective controlled study to determine the safety of trazodone and nefazodone use during pregnancy.

TL;DR: The results suggest that trazodone and nefazodone do not increase the rates of major malformations above the baseline rate of 1% to 3%.
Journal ArticleDOI

Breast milk and cognitive development—the role of confounders: a systematic review

TL;DR: Much of the reported effect of breastfeeding on child neurodevelopment is due to confounding, and future studies should attempt to rigorously control for all important confounders.
