Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanisms of cardiac arrhythmias and sudden death in transgenic rabbits with long QT syndrome

TL;DR: The elimination of 1 repolarizing current was associated with downregulation of the reciprocal repolarization current rather than with the compensatory upregulation observed previously in LQTS mouse models, which suggests that mutant KvLQT1 and HERG interacted with the reciprocal wild-type alpha subunits of rabbit ERG and Kv LQT 1, respectively.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Systematic Review of Lidocaine-Prilocaine Cream (EMLA) in the Treatment of Acute Pain in Neonates

TL;DR: None demonstrated a significant benefit of EMLA for any of the outcome measures used to assess pain (ie, behavioral pain scores, infant crying, heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, oxygenation parameters).
Journal ArticleDOI

Pregnancy-Associated Changes in Pharmacokinetics: A Systematic Review.

TL;DR: A significant gap is identified between the accumulating knowledge of PK changes in pregnant women and the authors' understanding of their clinical impact for both mother and fetus, and it is essential for clinicians to be aware of these unique pregnancy-related changes in PK, and to critically examine their clinical implications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Motherisk-PUQE (pregnancy-unique quantification of emesis and nausea) scoring system for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy.

TL;DR: A simple and clinically relevant method for evaluation of the severity of nausea and vomiting of pregnancy that can be used for both clinical practice and research is established and Clinicians and researchers can easily use PUQE.
Journal ArticleDOI

The safety of ondansetron for nausea and vomiting of pregnancy: a prospective comparative study

TL;DR: This study aims to determine whether this drug increases the baseline rate of major malformations in women treated with Zofran for nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.
