Journal ArticleDOI

Inflammation and Gut-Brain Axis During Type 2 Diabetes: Focus on the Crosstalk Between Intestinal Immune Cells and Enteric Nervous System.

TL;DR: The role of the crosstalk between intestinal immune cells and ENS neurons in the control of glycemia is focused on and its potential contribution and role on the immune and neuronal systems are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Delta opioid receptors mediate chemotaxis in bone marrow-derived dendritic cells.

TL;DR: It was found that the delta opioid receptor (DOR) mRNA was expressed at low level in bone marrow-derived immature DCs and up-regulated upon DC maturation and triggered DC chemotaxis in vitro, suggesting that the opioid chemotactic activity decreases as the concentration of the chemokines increases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Evidence for a restricted idiotypic and epitopic specificity of anti-thyroglobulin autoantibodies in patients with autoimmune thyroiditis.

TL;DR: The present study demonstrates that the expression of the T44 Id is strongly associated with the recognition by anti‐TG autoantibodies of a specific epitopic cluster on human TG, suggesting that qualitative rather than quantitative criteria should be used to identify pathological autoantsibodies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antiidiotypic suppression of autoantibodies with normal polyspecific immunoglobulins.

TL;DR: The presence of antiidiotypes against autoantibodies in pooled normal IgG supports the concept of a functional idiotypic network regulating autoimmune responses in man.
