Neratinib after trastuzumab-based adjuvant therapy in HER2-positive breast cancer (ExteNET): 5-year analysis of a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase 3 trial

Miguel Martin, +622 more
- 01 Dec 2017 -
TL;DR: 1 year of extended adjuvant therapy with neratinib, administered after chemotherapy and trastuzumab, significantly reduced the proportion of clinically relevant breast cancer relapses-ie, those that might lead to death, such as distant and locoregional relapses outside the preserved breast-without increasing the risk of long-term toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Older adult participation in cancer clinical trials: A systematic review of barriers and interventions.

TL;DR: Several underused solutions are offered to expand clinical trials to include older adults with cancer, but these recommendations alone will not solve the evidence gap in geriatric oncology, and efforts are needed to meet older and frail adults where they are by expanding clinical trials designed specifically for this population and leveraging real‐world data.
Journal ArticleDOI

Adjuvant Hormonal Therapy Use Among Insured, Low-Income Women With Breast Cancer

TL;DR: Prescription fill, adherence, and persistence to adjuvant hormonal therapy among socioeconomically disadvantaged women are low, and improving use of adjuant hormonal therapy may lead to lower breast cancer-specific mortality in this population.
