Journal ArticleDOI
Efficient and tunable white-light emission of metal–organic frameworks by iridium-complex encapsulation
Chun Yi Sun,Xin Long Wang,Xiao Zhang,Chao Qin,Peng Li,Zhong Min Su,Dong Xia Zhu,Guo-Gang Shan,Kui Zhan Shao,Han Wu,Jing Li +10 more
TL;DR: A strategy to achieve efficient white-light emission by encapsulating an iridium complex in the MOF cavity is reported, which may open new perspectives for developing high-performance energy-saving solid-state lighting materials.
Journal ArticleDOI
A facile strategy for realizing room temperature phosphorescence and single molecule white light emission
Jianguo Wang,Xinggui Gu,Xinggui Gu,Huili Ma,Qian Peng,Xiaobo Huang,Xiaoyan Zheng,Simon H. P. Sung,Guo-Gang Shan,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Zhigang Shuai,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +12 more
TL;DR: A facile strategy of heavy-atom-participated anion–π+ interactions is proposed to construct RTP-active organic salt compounds (1,2,3,4-tetraphenyloxazoliums with different counterions) by exchanging the counterion with a heavy halide ion.
Journal ArticleDOI
Highly Efficient Photosensitizers with Far-Red/Near-Infrared Aggregation-Induced Emission for In Vitro and In Vivo Cancer Theranostics
Dong Wang,Dong Wang,Michelle M. S. Lee,Guo-Gang Shan,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Huifang Su,Yuchen Cai,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +9 more
TL;DR: A novel type of far‐red/near‐infrared‐emissive fluorescent molecules with aggregation‐induced emission (AIE) characteristics is synthesized through a few steps reaction and is able to selectively target and ablate cancer cells over normal cells without the aid of any extra targeting ligands.
Journal ArticleDOI
Facile Synthesis of Red/NIR AIE Luminogens with Simple Structures, Bright Emissions, and High Photostabilities, and Their Applications for Specific Imaging of Lipid Droplets and Image-Guided Photodynamic Therapy
Dong Wang,Huifang Su,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Guo-Gang Shan,Anakin C. S. Leung,Michelle M. S. Lee,Herman H. Y. Sung,Ian D. Williams,Jacky Wing Yip Lam,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +10 more
TL;DR: A one‐pot synthetic strategy to prepare a series of red/NIR‐emissive AIE luminogens (AIEgens) by fine‐tuning their molecular structures and substituents is reported, which offers an ideal architecture for the construction of AIEgens with long emission wavelengths.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tuning Organelle Specificity and Photodynamic Therapy Efficiency by Molecular Function Design.
Zhiyang Liu,Hang Zou,Zheng Zhao,Pengfei Zhang,Guo-Gang Shan,Ryan T. K. Kwok,Jacky W. Y. Lam,Lei Zheng,Ben Zhong Tang,Ben Zhong Tang +9 more
TL;DR: A series of PSs are designed and synthesized based on a triphenylamine-azafluorenone core and show higher PDT efficiency than that of nonionized ones targeting lipid droplets and the ability of AIE PSs to kill cancer cells can be further enhanced by combination of PDT with radiotherapy.
