TL;DR: This work shows that glial gamma aminobutyric acid (GABA) is produced by monoamine oxidase B (MAOB), utilizing a polyamine, putrescine, to synthesize glial GABA, which is released to mediate tonic inhibition in the cerebellum and striatum.
