Journal ArticleDOI
Self-recognition Deficits in Schizophrenia Patients With Auditory Hallucinations: A Meta-analysis of the Literature
TL;DR: The view that self-recognition is impaired in patients with schizophrenia and particularly those with auditory hallucinations is substantiated, which suggests an association, perhaps a causal one, between such deficit and hallucinatory experiences in schizophrenia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Psychological Therapies for Auditory Hallucinations (Voices): Current Status and Key Directions for Future Research
Neil Thomas,Mark Hayward,Mark Hayward,Emmanuelle Peters,Emmanuelle Peters,Mark van der Gaag,Richard P. Bentall,Jack A. Jenner,Clara Strauss,Clara Strauss,Iris E. C. Sommer,Louise Johns,Filippo Varese,José M. García-Montes,Flavie Waters,Guy Dodgson,Simon McCarthy-Jones,Simon McCarthy-Jones +17 more
TL;DR: It is shown that psychological therapies are broadly effective for people with positive symptoms, but that more research is required to understand the specific application of therapies to voices.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of the cytoskeleton in the reaction of fibroblasts to multiple grooved substrata
Beata Wojciak-Stothard,Adam S. G. Curtis,W. Monaghan,M. Mcgrath,Iris E. C. Sommer,Chris D. W. Wilkinson +5 more
TL;DR: The aggregation of actin along groove/ridge boundaries is a primary driving event in determining fibroblast orientation on microgrooved substrata and the Curtis and Clark theory that cells react to topography primarily at lines of discontinuity in the substratum by actin nucleation is supported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in schizophrenia: ready for practice or a good start? A meta-analysis.
TL;DR: It is believed that application of NSAIDs in schizophrenia deserves further investigation as augmentation of antipsychotic treatment and reducing comorbid somatic diseases.
Journal ArticleDOI

Iris E. C. Sommer,Christina W. Slotema,Zafiris J. Daskalakis,Eske M. Derks,Jan Dirk Blom,Mark van der Gaag +5 more
