Journal ArticleDOI

Manual versus automated γ-H2AX foci analysis across five European laboratories: can this assay be used for rapid biodosimetry in a large scale radiation accident?

TL;DR: It is concluded that the γ-H2AX assay may be useful for rapid triage following a recent acute radiation exposure and the potentially higher speed and convenience of automated relative to manual foci scoring needs to be balanced against its compromised accuracy and inability to detect partial body exposures.
Journal ArticleDOI

DNA-proportional distribution of radiation-induced chromosome aberrations analysed by fluorescence in situ hybridization painting of all chromosomes of a human female karyotype.

TL;DR: The assumption that the probability of a chromosome being involved in an exchange aberration is proportional to its DNA content is not supported by the present data.
Journal ArticleDOI

RENEB – Running the European Network of biological dosimetry and physical retrospective dosimetry

TL;DR: RENEB is a European Network of biological and physical-retrospective dosimetry, with the capacity and capability to perform large-scale rapid individualized dose estimation and is able to contribute to radiological emergency preparedness and wider large- scale research projects.
