TL;DR: Baricitinib plus remdesivir was superior to remdes Vivir alone in reducing recovery time and accelerating improvement in clinical status among patients with Covid-19, notably among those receiving high-flow oxygen or noninvasive ventilation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Phase II studies of nebulised Arikace in CF patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection
John P. Clancy,Lieven Dupont,Michael W. Konstan,Joanne Billings,S. Fustik,Christopher H. Goss,James Lymp,P Minic,Alexandra L. Quittner,Ronald C. Rubenstein,K R Young,Lisa Saiman,Jane L. Burns,John R. W. Govan,Bonnie W. Ramsey,R. Gupta +15 more
TL;DR: Once-daily Arikace demonstrated acute tolerability, safety, biologic activity and efficacy in patients with CF with P aeruginosa infection.
Journal ArticleDOI
Respiratory viruses and chronic rejection in lung transplant recipients
TL;DR: Patients with CRV infection of the lower respiratory tract were predisposed to high-grade BOS development, and patients with pre-existing OB and BOS were predosposed to CRV infections.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diabetes Is Associated With Dramatically Decreased Survival in Female but Not Male Subjects With Cystic Fibrosis
TL;DR: Female subjects with CFRD have a remarkably poorer prognosis compared with all male subjects with CF and female subjects withCF but without diabetes, and it is speculated it might involve the interaction of female hormones and diabetes on promotion of a proinflammatory state.
Journal ArticleDOI
Insulin secretion improves in cystic fibrosis following ivacaftor correction of CFTR: a small pilot study.
Melena D. Bellin,Terri A. Laguna,Janice Leschyshyn,Warren E. Regelmann,Jordan M. Dunitz,Joanne Billings,Antoinette Moran +6 more
TL;DR: To determine whether the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) is involved in human insulin secretion by assessing the metabolic impact of the new CFTR corrector—ivacaftor.
