Clonal Hematopoiesis and Blood-Cancer Risk Inferred from Blood DNA Sequence
Giulio Genovese,Anna K. Kähler,Robert E. Handsaker,Johan Lindberg,Samuel A. Rose,Samuel F. Bakhoum,Kimberly Chambert,Eran Mick,Benjamin M. Neale,Menachem Fromer,Shaun Purcell,Oscar Svantesson,Mikael Landén,Martin Höglund,Sören Lehmann,Stacey Gabriel,Jennifer L. Moran,Eric S. Lander,Patrick F. Sullivan,Pamela Sklar,Henrik Grönberg,Christina M. Hultman,Steven A. McCarroll +22 more
TL;DR: Clonal hematopoiesis with somatic mutations is readily detected by means of DNA sequencing, is increasingly common as people age, and is associated with increased risks of hematologic cancer and death.
Journal ArticleDOI
Artificial intelligence for diagnosis and grading of prostate cancer in biopsies: a population-based, diagnostic study.
Peter Ström,Kimmo Kartasalo,Henrik Olsson,Leslie Solorzano,Brett Delahunt,Daniel M. Berney,David G. Bostwick,Andrew Evans,David J. Grignon,Peter A. Humphrey,Kenneth A. Iczkowski,James G. Kench,Glen Kristiansen,Theodorus van der Kwast,Katia R. M. Leite,Jesse K. McKenney,Jon Oxley,Chin Chen Pan,Hemamali Samaratunga,John R. Srigley,Hiroyuki Takahashi,Toyonori Tsuzuki,Murali Varma,Ming Zhou,Johan Lindberg,Cecilia Lindskog,Pekka Ruusuvuori,Carolina Wählby,Henrik Grönberg,Mattias Rantalainen,Lars Egevad,Martin Eklund +31 more
TL;DR: An artificial intelligence system can be trained to detect and grade cancer in prostate needle biopsy samples at a ranking comparable to that of international experts in prostate pathology.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prostate cancer screening in men aged 50-69 years (STHLM3): a prospective population-based diagnostic study.
Henrik Grönberg,Jan Adolfsson,Markus Aly,Tobias Nordström,Peter Wiklund,Yvonne Brandberg,James Thompson,Fredrik Wiklund,Johan Lindberg,Mark S. Clements,Lars Egevad,Martin Eklund +11 more
TL;DR: The STHLM3 model could reduce unnecessary biopsies without compromising the ability to diagnose prostate cancer with a Gleason score of at least 7, and could be a step towards personalised risk-based prostate cancer diagnostic programmes.
Journal ArticleDOI
Integration of copy number and transcriptomics provides risk stratification in prostate cancer: A discovery and validation cohort study
Helen Ross-Adams,Alastair D. Lamb,Mark J Dunning,Silvia Halim,Johan Lindberg,C M Massie,Lars Egevad,Roslin Russell,Antonio Ramos-Montoya,Sarah L. Vowler,N L Sharma,Jonathan Kay,Hayley C. Whitaker,Jeremy Clark,Rachel Hurst,Vincent J. Gnanapragasam,Nimish Shah,Anne Y. Warren,Cyrus Cooper,Andy G. Lynch,Rory Stark,Ian G. Mills,Henrik Grönberg,David E. Neal +23 more
TL;DR: For the first time in prostate cancer this study demonstrates the importance of integrated genomic analyses incorporating both benign and tumour tissue data in identifying molecular alterations leading to the generation of robust gene sets that are predictive of clinical outcome in independent patient cohorts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antibodies to several citrullinated antigens are enriched in the joints of rheumatoid arthritis patients
Omri Snir,Mona Widhe,Monika Hermansson,Caroline von Spee,Johan Lindberg,Sanne Hensen,Karin Lundberg,Åke Engström,Patrick J Venables,René E. M. Toes,Rikard Holmdahl,Lars Klareskog,Vivianne Malmström +12 more
TL;DR: Significantly higher proportions of antibodies against all RA-associated citrullinated antigens were found in synovial fluid as compared with serum, suggesting that there is local antibody production and/or retention of ACPAs at the site of inflammation governed by RA-predisposing genes.
