TL;DR: In this article, the dynamics of inner valence hole states in isopropanol were investigated using an x-ray pump/x-ray probe experiment, with site and state-specific probing of a transient hole state localized near the oxygen atom in the molecule, together with an ab initio theoretical treatment.

Proceedings ArticleDOI
Non-resonant and resonant x-ray photo pumping of a dense neon gas with x-ray free-electron lasers
Nina Rohringer,Duncan P. Ryan,Michael Purvis,James Dunn,Felicie Albert,Alexander Graf,Gregory V. Brown,J. Nilsen,John D. Bozek,Christoph Bostedt,R. A. London,Jorge J. Rocca +11 more
TL;DR: The interaction of ultrashort high-intensity pulses from XFELs with neon gas at atmospheric pressures results in strong amplification of spontaneous emission of the neon K-α line and self-stimulated resonant Raman scattering in the x-ray regime.
Journal ArticleDOI
Theoretical study of the vibrationally resolved photoionization cross section for the valence shells of N 2 and CO
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple model based on the Cohen-Fano formula is presented to detect double-slit like interferences, which reveals strong oscillations around the Franck-Condon factor.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coulomb explosion imaging of small organic molecules at LCLS
Benjamin Erk,Artem Rudenko,Daniel Rolles,Benedikt Rudek,Lutz Foucar,Sascha W. Epp,Max J. Cryle,Ilme Schlichting,Christoph Bostedt,Sebastian Schorb,John D. Bozek,Arnaud Rouzée,Axel Hundertmark,Tatiana Marchenko,Mark Simon,Frank Filsinger,Lauge Christensen,Shankar De,Sebastian Trippel,Shin-ichi Wada,Kiyoshi Ueda,Claus Dieter Schroeter,Joachim Ullrich +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors disentangle different fragmentation pathways, for certain cases can reconstruct molecular geometry at the moment of explosion, and show how it depends on LCLS pulse duration.
