Journal ArticleDOI
Oncogenic signaling by Kit tyrosine kinase occurs selectively on the Golgi apparatus in gastrointestinal stromal tumors
Yuuki Obata,Keita Horikawa,Tomomi Takahashi,Yuki Akieda,Masahiko Tsujimoto,Jonathan A. Fletcher,Hiroyasu Esumi,Toshirou Nishida,Ryo Abe +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that in cancer tissue from primary GIST patients as well as in cell lines, mutant Kit accumulates on the Golgi apparatus, whereas normal Kit localizes to the plasma membrane (PM) and may offer a new strategy for treating imatinib-resistant GISTs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Percutaneous biopsy for prognostic testing of neuroblastoma.
Fredric A. Hoffer,T Chung,Lisa Diller,Harry P.W. Kozakewich,Jonathan A. Fletcher,Robert C. Shamberger +5 more
TL;DR: Percutaneous biopsy of advanced neuroblastoma is a feasible alternative to open biopsy, and N-myc and ploidy determinations were successful in all five biopsy specimens obtained since September 1994.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complex cytogenetic aberrations in a well-differentiated chondrosarcoma.
TL;DR: In chondrosarcoma, it appears that "high-grade" cytogenetic abnormalities do not necessarily engender a high-grade histology, which offers a possible explanation for the clinical aggressiveness of certain low-grade chondosarcomas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cytogenetic and p53 profiles in congenital cystic adenomatoid malformation: insights into its relationship with pleuropulmonary blastoma.
Sara O. Vargas,Sara O. Vargas,Sara O. Vargas,Esther Korpershoek,Harry P.W. Kozakewich,Harry P.W. Kozakewich,Ronald R. de Krijger,Jonathan A. Fletcher,Jonathan A. Fletcher,Jonathan A. Fletcher,Antonio R. Perez-Atayde,Antonio R. Perez-Atayde +11 more
TL;DR: CCAM does not contain the clonal chromosomal aberrations reported in PPB and shows less stromal p53 immunostaining than PPB, and these findings provide evidence that CCAM is nonneoplastic.
