TL;DR: The incidence of patients starting RRT pmp secondary to DM in Europe was five times lower and the incidence of RRT due to other causes of ESRD was two times lower than the USA, when compared with the USA.

TL;DR: Infection-related mortality is highly increased in dialysis and kidney transplant patients, while the risk of malignancy-related death is moderately increased, and young women on dialysis may deserve special attention because of their high excess risk of infection- related mortality.
