Long-term air pollution exposure, greenspace and health-related quality of life in the ECRHS study.
Anne Boudier,Iana Markevych,Bénédicte Jacquemin,Michael J. Abramson,Simone Accordini,Bertil Forsberg,Elaine Fuertes,Judith Garcia-Aymerich,Joachim Heinrich,Ane Johannessen,Bénédicte Leynaert,Isabelle Pin,Valérie Siroux +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors assessed the associations of air pollution and greenspace with health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and whether asthma and/or rhinitis modify these associations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Role of DNA methylation in the association of lung function with body mass index: a two-step epigenetic Mendelian randomisation study
Andre F.S. Amaral,Medea Imboden,Medea Imboden,Matthias Wielscher,Faisal I. Rezwan,Cosetta Minelli,Judith Garcia-Aymerich,Gabriela P. Peralta,Juha Auvinen,Ayoung Jeong,Ayoung Jeong,Emmanuel Schaffner,Emmanuel Schaffner,Anna Beckmeyer-Borowko,Anna Beckmeyer-Borowko,John W. Holloway,Marjo-Riitta Järvelin,Marjo-Riitta Järvelin,Nicole Probst-Hensch,Nicole Probst-Hensch,Deborah Jarvis +20 more
TL;DR: This is the first paper to report the use of a two-step MR approach to assess the role of DNA methylation in mediating the effect of a non-genetic factor on lung function and the findings do not support a mediating effect.
Journal ArticleDOI
Personal strategies to mitigate the effects of air pollution exposure during sport and exercise: a narrative review and position statement by the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine and the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology
Andy Hung,Sarah Koch,Valérie Bougault,Cameron M. Gee,Romulo Bertuzzi,Malindi Elmore,Paddy McCluskey,Laura Hidalgo,Judith Garcia-Aymerich,Michael S. Koehle +9 more
TL;DR: A position statement by the Canadian Academy of Sport and Exercise Medicine and the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology as mentioned in this paper details the current state of evidence and provides recommendations on implementing personal strategies in preventing and mitigating the adverse health and performance effects of air pollution exposure during exercise while recognising the limited evidence base.
Journal ArticleDOI

Keoki Williams,Erik Melén,Fook Tim Chew,Luisa N. Borrell,Esteban G. Burchard,Maria Pino-Yanes +35 more
TL;DR: Admixture mapping study of asthma exacerbations revealed a novel locus that exhibited Hispanic/Latino-specific effects and regulated DPYSL3 and SCGB3A2 gene expression levels and regulated the transferability to other populations and potential functional roles.
