Genetic basis for variation in plasma IL-18 levels in persons with chronic hepatitis C virus and human immunodeficiency virus-1 infections
Candelaria Vergara,Chloe L. Thio,Rachel Latanich,Andrea L. Cox,Gregory D. Kirk,Shruti H. Mehta,Michael P. Busch,Edward L. Murphy,Edward L. Murphy,Maria C. Villacres,Marion G. Peters,Audrey L. French,Elizabeth T. Golub,Joseph J. Eron,Cecile D. Lahiri,Sadeep Shrestha,Deborah Gustafson,Mary Young,Kathryn Anastos,Bradley E. Aouizerat,Arthur Y. Kim,Georg M. Lauer,David L. Thomas,Priya Duggal +23 more
TL;DR: Genetic variation inIL-18 is associated with IL-18 production in response to HIV and HCV infection, and may explain variability in the inflammatory outcomes of chronic viral infections.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mental health and initiation of antiretroviral treatment at enrolment into HIV care in Cameroon under a national "treat all" policy: a cross-sectional analysis.
Angela M. Parcesepe,Lindsey M Filiatreau,Peter Vanes Ebasone,Anastase Dzudie,Brian W. Pence,Milton L. Wainberg,Marcel Yotebieng,Kathryn Anastos,Eric Pefura-Yone,Rogers Ajeh,Denis Nash +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors conducted interviews with 426 individuals initiating HIV care in Cameroon between June 2019 and March 2020 to estimate the association between mental health and timing of ART initiation and found that depression and PTSD were associated with lower prevalence of ART at enrolment into HIV care among this sample of individuals in Cameroon under a "treat all" policy.

Evaluation of the Abbott ARCHITECT HIV Ag/ Ab combo assay for determining recent HIV-1 infection
Kelly A. Curtis,Donna L. Rudolph,Yi Pan,Kevin P. Delaney,Kathryn Anastos,Jack DeHovitz,Seble Kassaye,Carl Veith Hanson,Audrey L. French,Elizabeth T. Golub,Adaora A. Adimora,Igho Ofotokun,Hector Bolivar,Mirjam-Colette Kempf,Philip J. Peters,William M. Switzer +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the performance characteristics of the ARCHITECT HIV Ag/Ab Combo signal-to-cutoff ratio (S/Co) for determining recent infection, including estimation of the mean duration of recent infection (MDRI) and false recent rate (FRR), and selection of recency cutoffs.
Journal ArticleDOI
