Journal ArticleDOI
Aerodynamic analysis of SARS-CoV-2 in two Wuhan hospitals.
Yuan Liu,Zhi Ning,Yu Chen,Ming Guo,Yingle Liu,Nirmal Kumar Gali,Li Sun,Yusen Duan,Jing Cai,Dane Westerdahl,Xinjin Liu,Ke Xu,Kin Fai Ho,Haidong Kan,Qingyan Fu,Ke Lan +15 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that room ventilation, open space, sanitization of protective apparel, and proper use and disinfection of toilet areas can effectively limit the concentration of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in aerosols, although the infectivity of the virus RNA was not established in this study.
Journal ArticleDOI
RNA based mNGS approach identifies a novel human coronavirus from two individual pneumonia cases in 2019 Wuhan outbreak.
Liangjun Chen,Weiyong Liu,Qi Zhang,Ke Xu,Guangming Ye,Weichen Wu,Ziyong Sun,Fang Liu,Kailang Wu,Bo Zhong,Mei Yi,Wenxia Zhang,Yu Chen,Yirong Li,Mang Shi,Ke Lan,Yingle Liu +16 more
TL;DR: Phylogenetic analysis indicates that 2019-nCoV is close to coronaviruses (CoVs) circulating in Rhinolophus (Horseshoe bats), and Evolutionary analysis based on ORF1a/1b, S, and N genes suggests2019-n coV is more likely a novel CoV independently introduced from animals to humans.
Journal ArticleDOI
ddPCR: a more accurate tool for SARS-CoV-2 detection in low viral load specimens.
Tao Suo,Xinjin Liu,Jiangpeng Feng,Ming Guo,Wenjia Hu,Dong Guo,Hafiz Ullah,Yang Yang,Qiuhan Zhang,Xin Wang,Muhanmmad Sajid,Zhixiang Huang,Liping Deng,Tielong Chen,Fang Liu,Ke Xu,Yuan Liu,Qi Zhang,Yingle Liu,Yong Xiong,Guozhong Chen,Ke Lan,Yu Chen +22 more
TL;DR: Overall, ddPCR shows superiority for clinical diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 to reduce the false negative reports, which could be a powerful complement to the RT-PCR.
Journal ArticleDOI
Coinfection with influenza A virus enhances SARS-CoV-2 infectivity.
Lei Bai,Yongliang Zhao,Jiazhen Dong,Simeng Liang,Ming Guo,Xinjin Liu,Xin Wang,Zhixiang Huang,Xiaoyi Sun,Zhen Zhang,Lianghui Dong,Qianyun Liu,Yucheng Zheng,Danping Niu,Min Xiang,Kun Song,Jiajie Ye,Wenchao Zheng,Zhidong Tang,Mingliang Tang,Yu Zhou,Chao Shen,Ming Dai,Li Zhou,Yu Chen,Huan Yan,Ke Lan,Ke Xu +27 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors found that IAV preinfection significantly promoted the infectivity of SARS-CoV-2 in a broad range of cell types, and in vivo, increased infection load and more severe lung damage were observed in mice coinfected with IAV.
Journal ArticleDOI
Novel and potent inhibitors targeting DHODH are broad-spectrum antivirals against RNA viruses including newly-emerged coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.
Rui Xiong,Leike Zhang,Shiliang Li,Yuan Sun,Minyi Ding,Yong Wang,Yongliang Zhao,Yan Wu,Weijuan Shang,Xiaming Jiang,Jiwei Shan,Zihao Shen,Yi Tong,Liuxin Xu,Yu Chen,Yingle Liu,Gang Zou,Dimitri Lavillete,Zhenjiang Zhao,Rui Wang,Lili Zhu,Gengfu Xiao,Ke Lan,Honglin Li,Ke Xu,Ke Xu +25 more
TL;DR: This work demonstrates that both S312/S416 and old drugs with dual actions of antiviral and immuno-regulation may have clinical potentials to cure SARS-CoV-2 or other RNA viruses circulating worldwide, no matter such viruses are mutated or not.
