Probing strigolactone receptors in Striga hermonthica with fluorescence
Yuichiro Tsuchiya,Yuichiro Tsuchiya,Masahiko Yoshimura,Yoshikatsu Sato,Keiko Kuwata,Shigeo Toh,Duncan Holbrook-Smith,Hua Zhang,Peter McCourt,Kenichiro Itami,Toshinori Kinoshita,Shinya Hagihara +11 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that ShHTLs function as the strigolactone receptors mediating seed germination in Striga, the diverged family of α/β hydrolase-fold proteins inStriga.
Journal ArticleDOI
Molecular Mechanism of Cellular Oxidative Stress Sensing by Keap1
Takafumi Suzuki,Aki Muramatsu,Ryota Saito,Tatsuro Iso,Takahiro Shibata,Keiko Kuwata,Shinichi Kawaguchi,Takao Iwawaki,Saki Adachi,Hiromi Suda,Masanobu Morita,Koji Uchida,Liam Baird,Masayuki Yamamoto +13 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a Keap1 mutant lacking 11 cysteine residues retains the ability to target Nrf2 for degradation, but it is unable to respond to Cysteine-reactive NRF2 inducers.
Journal ArticleDOI
Syndecan-4 Is a Receptor for Clathrin-Mediated Endocytosis of Arginine-Rich Cell-Penetrating Peptides.
Yoshimasa Kawaguchi,Toshihide Takeuchi,Keiko Kuwata,Junya Chiba,Yasumaru Hatanaka,Ikuhiko Nakase,Shiroh Futaki +6 more
TL;DR: A photo-cross-linking probe in which a cleavable linker of a diazobenzene moiety was employed was employed to allow selective elution of cross-linked proteins by reducing agent-mediated cleavage and revealed that syndecan-4 is a primary cell-surface target for R8 peptide that allows intracellular delivery of bioactive cargo molecules via clathrin-mediated endocytosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
The AMOR Arabinogalactan Sugar Chain Induces Pollen-Tube Competency to Respond to Ovular Guidance
Akane Mizukami,Rie Inatsugi,Jiao Jiao,Toshihisa Kotake,Keiko Kuwata,Kento Ootani,Satohiro Okuda,Subramanian Sankaranarayanan,Yoshikatsu Sato,Daisuke Maruyama,Hiroaki Iwai,Estelle Garénaux,Chihiro Sato,Ken Kitajima,Yoichi Tsumuraya,Hitoshi Mori,Junichiro Yamaguchi,Kenichiro Itami,Narie Sasaki,Tetsuya Higashiyama +19 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that the AMOR sugar chain in the ovary renders the pollen tube competent to the chemotropic response prior to final guidance by LURE peptides.
Journal ArticleDOI
A femtomolar-range suicide germination stimulant for the parasitic plant Striga hermonthica
Daisuke Uraguchi,Keiko Kuwata,Yuh Hijikata,Rie Yamaguchi,Hanae Imaizumi,Sathiyanarayanan Am,Christin Rakers,Narumi Mori,Kohki Akiyama,Stephan Irle,Peter McCourt,Toshinori Kinoshita,Takashi Ooi,Yuichiro Tsuchiya +13 more
TL;DR: A selective agonist, sphynolactone-7, a hybrid molecule originated from chemical screening, that contains two functional modules derived from a synthetic scaffold and a core component of strigolactones that is effective for reducing Striga parasitism without impinging on host strIGolact one-related processes is demonstrated.
