Probing strigolactone receptors in Striga hermonthica with fluorescence

TL;DR: It is concluded that ShHTLs function as the strigolactone receptors mediating seed germination in Striga, the diverged family of α/β hydrolase-fold proteins inStriga.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular Mechanism of Cellular Oxidative Stress Sensing by Keap1

TL;DR: It is shown that a Keap1 mutant lacking 11 cysteine residues retains the ability to target Nrf2 for degradation, but it is unable to respond to Cysteine-reactive NRF2 inducers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Syndecan-4 Is a Receptor for Clathrin-Mediated Endocytosis of Arginine-Rich Cell-Penetrating Peptides.

TL;DR: A photo-cross-linking probe in which a cleavable linker of a diazobenzene moiety was employed was employed to allow selective elution of cross-linked proteins by reducing agent-mediated cleavage and revealed that syndecan-4 is a primary cell-surface target for R8 peptide that allows intracellular delivery of bioactive cargo molecules via clathrin-mediated endocytosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

A femtomolar-range suicide germination stimulant for the parasitic plant Striga hermonthica

TL;DR: A selective agonist, sphynolactone-7, a hybrid molecule originated from chemical screening, that contains two functional modules derived from a synthetic scaffold and a core component of strigolactones that is effective for reducing Striga parasitism without impinging on host strIGolact one-related processes is demonstrated.
