The Hagedorn - deconfinement phase transition in weakly coupled large N gauge theories
TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that weakly coupled, large $N, d$-dimensional supersymmetric Yang-Mills theories on a class of compact spatial manifolds undergo deconfinement phase transitions at temperatures proportional to the inverse length scale of the manifold in question.
Journal ArticleDOI

TL;DR: In the course of the work, a perspective on the many research streams which flow into and out of QCD is offered, as well as a vision for future developments.

TL;DR: In this paper, the progress, current status, and open challenges of QCD-driven physics, in theory and in experiment, are highlighted, highlighting how the strong interaction is intimately connected to a broad sweep of physical problems, in settings ranging from astrophysics and cosmology to strongly coupled, complex systems in particle and condensed-matter physics, as well as searches for physics beyond the Standard Model.
Journal ArticleDOI
An infalling observer in AdS/CFT
TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the experience of an observer falling into a black hole using the AdS/CFT correspondence, and reconstruct the local bulk operators measured by the observer along his trajectory outside the black hole.
Journal ArticleDOI
Emergent Spacetime and Holographic CFTs
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss universal properties of conformal field theories with holographic duals and argue that these operators are naturally represented as fields in AdS as this makes the underlying linearity of the system manifest.
