TL;DR: The exact determination of the neutron capture cross sections of Os-186 and Os-187 is important to define the s-process abundance of Os187 at the formation of the solar system as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Isotopic and velocity distributions of {sub 83}Bi produced in charge-pickup reactions of {sub 82}{sup 208}Pb at 1A GeV
A. Kelic,K.-H. Schmidt,T. Enqvist,A. Boudard,P. Armbruster,J. Benlliure,M. Bernas,S. Czajkowski,R. Legrain,S. Leray,B. Mustapha,M.S. Pravikoff,F. Rejmund,C. Stephan,J. Taieb,L. Tassan-Got,C. Volant,W. Wlazlo +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured cross sections and velocity distributions in charge-pickup reactions of $1A\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{GeV}$ with proton, deuterium, and titanium targets and compared them with other existing data and also with model calculations based on the coupling of different intranuclear cascade codes and an evaporation code.
Journal ArticleDOI
Response of CsI(Tl) scintillators over a large range in energy and atomic number of ions (Part I): recombination and delta -- electrons
M. Parlog,B. Borderie,M.F. Rivet,G. Tabacaru,A. Chbihi,M. Elouardi,N. Le Neindre,O. Lopez,E. Plagnol,L. Tassan-Got +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple formalism describing the light response of CsI(Tl) to heavy ions, which quantifies the luminescence and the quenching in terms of the competition between radiative transitions following the carrier trapping at the Tl activator sites and the electron-hole recombination, is proposed.
