TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the cross sections of the fragments and their velocities at GSI with the FRagment Separator, which enabled the knowledge of the velocity enables to deduce the reaction mechanisms and leads to a better understanding of the physics of intermediate-energy nuclear reactions.
