TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the 235U(n, f) cross section at n_TOF relative to 6Li n, t and 10B n,α, with high resolution (L= 183. 49 (2) m) and in a wide energy range (25meV-170keV).
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct experimental evidence for very long fission times of super-heavy elements
M. Morjean,J. L. Charvet,A. Chbihi,Marius Chevallier,C. Cohen,Denis Dauvergne,R. Dayras,A. Drouart,J.D. Frankland,D. Jacquet,R. Kirsch,M. Laget,P. Lautesse,A. L'Hoir,A. Marchix,L. Nalpas,M. Parlog,Cédric Ray,C. Schmitt,Ch. Stodel,L. Tassan-Got,C. Volant +21 more
TL;DR: In this article, the blocking technique in single crystals has been applied to reaction time measurements for the 238U + Ge system at 6.1 MeV/nucleon, which provides a direct experimental evidence for Z = 124 compound nuclei living longer than 10-18 s.

Rossi,Herbert A. Simon,L. Tassan-Got,J. Vargas,Bernd Voss,Helmut Weick +34 more
TL;DR: Against all expectations, the symmetric scission in the light thorium isotopes shows a compact configuration, which is in total contrast to what is known in the fission of the heavier thoria isotopes and heavier actinides.
